This gig was nuts. I'll probably add more to this description later but for now - this gig was shot at Recyclart, an old train station turned venue/art space, in Bruxelles, Belgium. It was the last night of their 2008 European tour. I can't describe how stoked I was to have made this gig. Right place, right time, right on! This film is in 7 parts, it would have been 8 parts but as luck would have it my camera's battery gave out on me right before the last song so this film isn't really their complete set from that night. I apologize for the somewhat shaky quality of this film but it's not easy to shoot a gig like this, rock out (uh, despite what it might look like that's actually my hair making multiple appearances throughout this film, it's not someone shaking a dirty mop in front of the camera) and fighting like hell to keep a couple of hundred people from over-running you as they all attempt to get as close to the maelstrom as possible. I think I did the best that I could given the circumstances. Yeah, so crank up your speakers, expand these clips to full-screen size and get it on with Lightning Bolt. Nothing but thanks to Brian Chippendale, not just for giving me his permission to film, and then upload this gig, but also for his not whacking me in the head, hands or camera with his sticks while I was filming. I gotta thank Paul & Christian for hanging out with me that night, Brian & Brian for giving it all they had, OvO (Stefania & Bruno), for tearing it up earlier that same evening and everyone that came out to the gig and helped make this a night to remember. s2k
