Every woman wants to feel sexy and alluring. But, the stereotype of what belongs in sexy lingerie may make it confusing and uncomfortable when looking for those sexy garments. It is near impossible to turn on the television without seeing a rail thin Victoria's Secret angel in a silky bra and panty ensemble strutting across the screen. For any woman who has walked into one of these lingerie stores staffed entirely by size one, twenty something cuties, the frustration of feeling out of place while trying to find the correct fitting size is probably still haunting their thoughts.
Online lingerie shopping is not any easier. Most online lingerie stores have a plus size selection, but finding it may not always be an easy task. Additionally, the consumer may not be aware that they are a plus size. Since when is a size 10 considered a plus size? Size 10 in everyday wear is found in the "Mrs." department of most department stores, not the "plus" sized department. Don't despair and hide out in those baggy sweats.
Every woman can look beautifully sexy in lingerie. The key to the magic is in purchasing the correct size for each body type. Lingerie sizing is completely different than buying a pair of jeans. For one thing, a pair of jeans only covers the bottom portion of the body. There are several styles of lingerie and many of them are a one-piece style outfit. Those can be the most difficult for a full figured woman to size herself properly. Then there are bikini sets, baby doll sets, corsets, bustiers, stockings, etc.
The most important information when buying lingerie that fits is to know bust, waist, hips, and glut measurements, not just the dress or jean size. Height can also affect the way lingerie fits, especially one piece items. The torso of someone 5' is going to be different than the torso of someone 5'8" even if they are both a size 8. Take that into consideration when purchasing a one-size-fits-all item of lingerie.
For someone who has a more hour glass shape with smaller hips and breasts, the selection of styles will be much easier than for someone who is very busty or has larger hips. Items that come in two separate pieces will be an easier fit for those who fall into the larger hips or breast, or who have larger midsection . Two-piece items can be purchased using bra and panty size, making the fit much more customized than a one piece set will be.
Corsets and bustiers can be a little trickier for full-figured body types, but can still find the right fit. Corsets usually have some sort of ribbing in them. The key for a well fitting Corset is in the quality of the ribbing as well as having the correct size. The more sturdy the ribbing the better the item is going to fit. When ordering a corset or bustier online and looking for the correct size for these items check the size chart for the waist measurements. Some sites say to use the dress size, but after looking at the size chart, that may not be the actual size needed for some shapes.
Any woman can look amazing in lingerie. To do so, they just need to be honest with themselves about their body type and measurements, then cross check them with the size chart for which ever online lingerie store being shopped. Looking at the height and dimensions of the model wearing the garment, will also give an indication as to if this item will be a favorable selection. If shopping in an actual lingerie store, don't feel intimidated. Ask a store associate for a measurement and assistance in finding the correct sizes.
